After watching a great deal of Power Rangers, my 6 year old son expressed interest in learning a martial art. We live in the Keller area and a friend of mine suggested that we try Peak Performance’s Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu class. I nervously signed him up, not really knowing what to expect. I was definitely pleasantly surprised with the overall improvement my son made within just the first month of taking this class. The structure the Jiu-Jitsu classes added to his life really helped him become more disciplined and allowed him to channel all of his energy into a focused work out. I could not be more pleased with the difference I have seen so far and I can’t wait until my younger son is ready attend the classes as well.

I am one of those people that hates going to the gym. There is just nothing enticing to me about running on a treadmill for hours and not really seeing any results. I tried taking a kickboxing class when I lived in L.A., but I found it rather unimpressive and not at all like what I thought it was going to be. So when I moved to Fort Worth and one of my co-workers was trying to get me to try out the Muay Thai class at Peak Performance, I was very reluctant. However, after the first class, I felt like I had been knocked off my feet. It is definitely not your average kickboxing class in the least. The class was incredibly high energy and the workout was nothing short of high impact. I love the changes that I am seeing in my body so far and I plan on sticking with the class for a long time. My boyfriend enrolled me in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class at Peak Performance when I started a night job at a local club. I didn’t really know too much about self-defense and I was really worried that I would not be able to keep up or get the hang of it. They were very patient with me at the beginning and made sure that I had a firm grasp on all the basic movements needed to help me improve. The guys and I are huge MMA fans, so when we found out that there was a local place to learn the techniques and training we immediately signed up. What I really like about Peak Performance’s MMA class is that it goes a lot further than what you might think MMA fighting is all about. We kind of thought we were going to just dive right in and start learning everything we see in the fights we watch, but there is a lot more skill required than we had planned on. It is a really fun class and a great way to participate in a group activity with friends and family. As much as we love goofing around outside of class, it is pretty cool to have a safe place to practice these moves. It has even encouraged us to start looking at local MMA challenge opportunities.
